Note personal conclusions about benefits and challenges in relation to self-evaluation as well as possible next steps for their personal development as instructors

CONFLICT MANAGEMENT

The aim of this lesson is to prepare the participants to address conflicts during trainings

After successfully having completed this lesson, the participants can:

57) Describe different ways to solve conflicts amongst learners (Knowledge, basic level)

58) Recognise conflicts amongst the learners and decide what action to take (Knowledge, basic level)

The instructor shall:

Present how to recognise conflict between learners and the impact it has on learning

Present considerations and strategies on how to mitigate conflict

Introduce participants to conflict theory and management

Facilitate discussion based on participants’ experience around conflict in a learning group

The participants shall:

Share experience as both an instructor and a teacher on conflict in the classroom between learners and their instructors

Discuss options around addressing conflict in a learning group

Work in small groups to solve scenarios around different types of conflict and conflict resolution theory

Discuss experiences with conflict in the classroom as an instructor and how they handled it

Participate in role play in which all participants participate as an instructor and a learner in conflict

Reflect on how these strategies may change depending on the learning group
