7.1 Environmental management
Path to ISP certification Representatives of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) visited Air Serbia to begin defining key performance indicators (KPIs) within IATA's Integrated Sustainability Program. The operational part of the visit was coordinated by Air Serbia's sustainability team. This step represents the continuation of the company's path towards the potential acquisition of the ISP (Integrated Sustainable Program) certificate , a globally recognized confirmation of the application of the highest standards of sustainable business in the aviation industry. During the visit, Air Serbia and the IATA team mapped the company's existing procedures and practices, assessed alignment with international standards, and defined the priority KPIs that will track the company's progress. Beyond improving sustainability performance, the programme strengthens the confidence of passengers, partners and investors through transparent and independent assessment. For Air Serbia, the project forms part of a broader sustainability strategy aimed at contributing to global goals of reducing emissions and conserving resources, while continuing to improve service quality for passengers. .
Air Serbia manages its environmental responsibilities within a formal Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Policy, adopted at management level and applicable to all employees without exception, as well as to visitors, contractors and business partners operating at, or on behalf of, the company. The Policy commits Air Serbia to developing and continuously improving an integrated HSE management system built in line with the principles of ISO 14001 (environmental management) and ISO 45001 (occupational health and safety); the company is not currently certified to these standards. In the environmental domain, the Policy sets out commitments to the efficient use of natural resources and energy, the reduction of emissions and to the climate impact of operations, the prevention and responsible management of waste, and the transparent communication of HSE performance to stakeholders. It provides the governing framework within which the company’s environmental initiatives, including the IATA Environmental Assessment process described below, are pursued.
