7.3 Fleet modernization and efficiency
Air Serbia continued the modernization and expansion of its fleet during 2025. Since 2022, the company has significantly strengthened its fleet capacity, supporting improved connectivity, operational efficiency and a better passenger experience. The fleet currently comprises 29 aircraft: four wide-body Airbus A330-200, three A320-200, nine A319-100, three Embraer E195 and ten ATR 72-600. The average age of the fleet was 13.83 years in 2025. In 2026, the fleet is planned to expand further with the incorporation of three additional Airbus A320 and one additional Embraer E195 aircraft. The fleet is optimized for the network operated, wide-body A330-200s serve intercontinental routes to the United States and China, narrow-body Airbus aircraft cover European and Mediterranean operations, and ATR 72-600s connect Belgrade with regional airports.
Air Serbia welcomed a new Embraer E195 aircraft (118 seats) at Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport, with a further aircraft of the same type expected in the period ahead. Before entering service, the aircraft received Air Serbia's visual identity. Airbus A220-300 through partnership with airBaltic
Embraer E190 through partnership with Bulgaria Air . The company also supplemented its capacity through an ACMI arrangement with Bulgaria Air, which operated Embraer E190 aircraft (108 seats) on behalf of Air Serbia throughout 2025, two aircraft during the winter season, increasing to four aircraft during the summer season. This partnership provided additional short- and medium-haul capacity, complementing Air Serbia's own regional fleet
Fourth wide-body Airbus A330-200
A growing fleet and our climate responsibility As the fleet continues to grow, Air Serbia recognizes that fleet expansion increases its total operational footprint. The company therefore frames fleet efficiency in terms of performance per flight and per seat, and pursues modernization as part of its broader emissions-management strategy (see Chapter 7.2), rather than as a claim of absolute emissions reduction.
During the year the company introduced its fourth wide-body Airbus A330-200, supporting the continued development of long-haul operations and connectivity between Serbia and key international markets, including destinations in North America and China.
Through a two-year wet lease (ACMI) arrangement, latest-generation Airbus A220-300 aircraft (148 seats) operated by airBaltic were introduced into Air Serbia's operations from November 2025, two aircraft during the 2025 winter season, increasing to four in the summer 2026 season. The A220-300 is a latest-generation aircraft offering improved fuel efficiency and lower emissions and noise per flight compared with older types, while also enhancing passenger comfort. This type of aircraft serves as a reference point for future decisions on the composition of Air Serbia's fleet, in line with the company's longer-term efficiency and sustainability priorities.
