Responsible procurement practices
In cooperation with the Government of the Republic of Serbia, Air Serbia operates several Public Service Obligation (PSO) routes from Niš and Kraljevo in central Serbia. These services improve the connectivity of regions outside the capital with Europe and the Balkans, supporting regional accessibility, mobility and economic development , a direct contribution to the indirect economic impact of the national carrier.
Procurement at Air Serbia is coordinated by the Procurement function, working closely with technical, operational and commercial teams. Air Serbia conducts its procurement in accordance with its internal Rulebook on the Procurement of Goods, Services and Works, which provides a framework built on transparency, equal treatment of bidders and open competition. Supplier selection balances safety, reliability, quality and cost. As part of this process, a supplier signs the Supplier Declaration Form as a condition of participating in procurement. Through this declaration, the supplier confirms, among other things, that it has complied with the obligations arising from regulations on occupational health and safety, employment and working conditions, and environmental protection, and that it holds the relevant intellectual-property rights. In this way, core social, environmental and ethical expectations are already embedded in Air Serbia's supplier-onboarding process and apply to all suppliers engaged through procurement. Across the aviation industry, the management of supplier relationships is increasingly shaped by sustainability considerations alongside traditional commercial criteria. Building on the foundation provided by its supplier declaration, Air Serbia is progressively integrating wider environmental, social and governance (ESG) considerations into its sourcing process, and views this as an ongoing development journey.
8.4 Procurement and supply chain
Air Serbia depends on a wide network of suppliers and partners to operate safely and reliably. While procurement and supply chain is not classified as one of the company’s most material topics in the current materiality assessment, Air Serbia chooses to report on it because of the role its supply chain plays in service quality, operational resilience and the company’s wider economic and environmental footprint.
Our supply chain
Air Serbia's supply chain spans the full range of inputs required to run a modern airline. The most significant categories are aircraft fuel (Jet A-1), aircraft leasing, maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO), ground handling, in-flight catering, airport and navigation services, and information-technology and professional services. The company works with suppliers based in the Republic of Serbia and abroad, depending on the nature and availability of each category of service.
