We even managed to celebrate Grand Polemarch Shelton’s birthday during that event with a cake. Q: You were the architect of Kappa Alpha Psi’s 5-Year Strategic Plan that was adopted by the Grand Board of Di- rectors this past year for the fraternity as the blueprint to lead us through 2025. You laid out five strategies pertaining to Leadership Development for our frater- nity. Can you summarize what we need to accomplish in this space? McMikle : First of all, let me encour- age every member of our fraternity to familiarize themselves with Kappa Alpha Psi’s entire strategic plan. Q: Thanks for taking the time to chat. Hopefully we can circle back after the next executive retreat or when you have more to report on the advances in the Training for Leadership focus area of the strategic plan.

Q: Why are you so passionate about leadership?

McMikle: Leadership is my life. I own a leadership training and develop- ment consulting firm. There are “three” simple, yet powerful words, that define my personal and company mission and direct my passion to equip people for success through customized train-
