And as to his vision for the Gold- man School? “The Goldman School has a solid foundation of excellence, with room for both incremental and big innovations. As Dean, I will prior- itize advancing current strategic ideas around social and racial justice while also developing new signature initia- tives that align with the UC Berkeley strategic plan. This means utilizing the full intellectual power of the existing research centers in the Goldman School to engage and support academic units across campus. It also means embedding new ideas and activities into the existing features of the school’s research enterprise, curriculum, and personnel planning. In terms of my personal vision, I hope to represent achievement and excellence more broadly as this is our fraternal call- ing. This means not shying away from difficult conversations around diversity and justice, but also pushing for out-

With respect to Brother Wilson's pro- fessional focus, he shared “My profes- sional journey took me to the military (Army), graduate school (Michigan State University), work in the private sector (the Gallup Polling organization), and ultimately, academia (Howard University and then the University of Delaware (UD)).” “As a Professor (Political Science and Psychology), I enjoyed helping inform students about how to analyze their ex- perience the social world and give them tools to make a difference. Ultimately, I went into administration (Senior As- sociate Dean of Social Sciences) and that gave me an opportunity to lead other leaders (e.g., department chairs and program directors) at my academic home at UD. After 15 years at UD, I decided to join the University of Cali- fornia, Berkeley’s Goldman School of Public Policy (GSPP) as its Dean and
