and chemistry. He later completed graduate studies at Nova University in Educational Administration and Supervision. Upon earning his undergraduate degree, Ayer was drafted into the United States Army. He served two years as a technician in medical and preventative services. He was later deployed to the German field of operations to complete his military service. After completing his military duties, Ayer met and later married Frankie Watson. To this union was born two sons, Robert III and Bryan. Ayer began his career as an educator at Archer Community School, transferring to Lincoln High School in 1957, working as a biology teacher and the athletics business manager for 15 years. In the era of integration, Ayer accepted a teaching assignment in biology at Eastside High School, where he was recognized for his exceptional skills and served as chairman of the Biology Department for 22 years. While at Eastside, Ayer also served as the school’s safety coordinator, business manager, and tennis coach. Ayer accepted Christ at an early age and lived his life in the service of the Lord. He was a lifelong member of Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church. In his community, Ayer was a charter member of the Gainesville Harvest Ministry, FAMU Alumni Association, and a devoted Life Member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., where he served as polemarch of the Gainesville (FL) Alumni Chapter from 1974- 1975. Ayer also established a legacy in the Bond after his sons and grandson became his fraternity brothers: Bryan (Gamma Phi 1982), Robert III (Tampa (FL) Alumni 1986), and Justin (Alpharetta-Smyrna (GA) Alumni 2009). Brother Robert B. Ayer, Jr. is preceded in death by his wife, Frankie; sister, Helen Ayer Richmond; brothers, Orion T. Ayer, Sr., M.D., James Ayer, Vernon Ayer, M.D., and Irwin Ayer. He is survived by his loving sons, Robert III (Valerie), Bryan (Valerie); grandchildren, Robert IV (Melanie), Justin, Vanessa, Matthew; great-grandchildren,

Savannah, Robert V; and a host of other relatives and friends. The Frankie W. and Robert B. Ayer, Jr. Scholarship was established in the memory of Brother and Mrs. Ayer, who together dedicated over 60 years of service teaching, leading, mentoring, and inspiring students of Alachua County Public Schools. A $1,000 scholarship will be awarded annually to an Alachua County high school senior attending an HBCU in the state of Florida: studying teacher education, science, technology, engineering, arts, or math (STEAM). Wince Brandon (Pritchard (AL) 1993), a Life Member of the Fraternity, entered

from Georgia State University (GSU) in 1994. He then attended law school at the University of Florida, and received his Juris Doctorate in 1997. Carter started his legal career in the mayor's office of telecommunications at the city of Atlanta. He moved to Comcast, and then Cox Communications where he held a series of legal and leadership roles. Over a 17- year period with Cox Communications, Brother LeVoyd served as Associate General Counsel in Cox Law and Policy Department. Brother LeVoyd L. Carter II was a Life Member of the Fraterinty.other Carter is preceded in death by his father, Mr. LeVoyd L Carter Sr, and his maternal and paternal grandparents. He is survived by his wife, Sherry Ann Kangalee-Carter, his children - Anthony and Anisa, his mother and sister and host of family and friends.

September 14, 2020, at age 67. Brandon was born on April 8, 1953. He was a 1971 graduate of Blount High School located in Prichard, AL, and Miles College in Birmingham, AL. After 25 years of dedicated service, he retired from the University of South Alabama as an Assistant Director for the Brookley Campus, where he also served as a mentor for African American students. Brandon held professional memberships in the Alabama Association of College and University Business Officers (AACUBO) and served as the Division Representative for the United Way Campaign at the University of South Alabama. He was a member of the Mobile (AL) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. He held memberships in the University Lions Club International, Habitat for Humanity, and the Mobile Alumni Chapter of the Alpha Phi Omega Service Fraternity.
