DOUBLE FACED CAST IRON ROSE DESIGNS
ROSE DESIGN In America, the rose casting was originally developed and used in the Vieux Carre Section of New Orleans. The French Quarter has historical significance as one of the most beautiful and intricately diverse examples of cast iron architecture in North America and is considered by most to be the birthplace of the many and varied American rose designs. The Rose, heavily influenced by the Art Nouveau movement, was present at The Crucifixion along with the Passion Flower. This floral design has strong historical roots and unique variations of this pattern have been produced over the years. Many of the Rose design castings in this catalog are recognized circa 1850.
