THE OAK GROUP As with many cast patterns in the United States, the Oak Design originated in the New Orleans area. With the Gulf Coast area Oak trees being decimated by pirate moss in the swampy areas, these iron patterns were designed to save for eternity the Leaf and Acorn pattern so sacred to the people of that serene southern locale. Now the warmth and scent of the soft Gulf breeze swaying the boughs of the mighty Oak can be evoked with a decorative cast Oak motif.
