Checklist of things to consider: Do you have/need a slide or swing gate? Is the property a single home, multi-home or commercial property? How many moving gates are planned for this property? Are they dual or single leaf gates? In the case of multiple gates at one property, will the gates be used as BOTH entry and exit or separated duty? How long is each gate from end to end? In the case of a swing gate, will there be walls or columns next to your gate posts? For example, are there any concrete, brick, stone column or post next to the wall of your house? If so, how wide is the column? (2ft. x 2ft., 1ft. x 1ft., etc.) Will there be any wood, sheet metal, or other panels on your gate(s)? If you cannot see through the pickets, this will cause more resistance on the machine from the wind. Will you have A/C power available at the gate site? If so, what voltage (120V, 230V)? If A/C power will not be available, then a battery powered solar recharged system will have to be used, but only for SINGLE family usage. Where to start...

Return & Warranty Procedures

Access control shortages and/or damages must be reported within twenty-four (24) hours of signed receipt of product. On truck line orders all damages or shortages must be notated on the Delivery Receipt. Call our customer service representative at (800)542-2379, to report any shortage or damages (keep the box, pallet and any packing material for potential claims). Any returns for non-King related issues will be subject to a 25% restocking fee. Material must not be opened or installed. Customer will be responsible for shipping the return items back to the King warehouse where the items shipped from. No COD returns will be accepted. We advise against returning items USPS due to insufficient Proof of Delivery. On warranty issues the Customer must call the Vendor to trouble shoot at the site of the install. Customer must be prepared to perform a series of tasks. All warranty exams are performed in compliance with the individual manufacturer's evaluation steps of their product. Any product damaged due to an installation error, power surge, natural disaster or weather-related occurrence is not covered under warranty. If problem cannot be resolved, vendor will supply a case number. The customer will then call King Metals with the case number, model number and serial number. An Access Control Representative will start the warranty paperwork on behalf of the Customer for products purchased from King Architectural Metals at no additional charge. If material is not purchased through King Architectural Metals a $50 processing fee will apply. Please allow two (2) to four (4) weeks for the warranty process (in some rare instances, longer). Routinely, most manufacturers will repair, instead of replace merchandise. For this reason, King Architectural Metals does not recommend purchasing advance replacement parts during the warranty process. Any advance purchase(s) of this nature will not be reimbursed in instances where manufacturers repair, rather than replaces the warranted item(s). The Customer is responsible for all shipping charges on warranty and non-warranty claims unless specified by the manufacturer. Non-warranty items will not be repaired until authorization for repair charges has been granted, the Customer will be responsible for all repair costs. For any warranty questions please call (800)542-2379, for the Access Controls Department.
