Safety Moment | John the Fireman Western States Fire Protection Regional Safety Manager, John Lucas, was captured on camera putting out a car fire on the side of the highway in Phoenix, Arizona. John was on his way to work when he saw smoke and he did not hesitate. John pulled his truck over to the side of the road and started running towards a vehicle on fire with his fire extinguisher. We are proud of his bravery, preparation, and quick thinking. When asked about the incident, John said, “It’s unfortunate that I didn’t take the time to put on my safety glasses…. Really wishing that I would have.” Thank you, John, for acting quickly to keep others safe.
