Muriel Funches An Online/Hybrid Experience We opened the semester in a hybrid in-person/online mode shifting some of our planned activity to operate in- person if agreed upon. Flexibility was the key. Throughout the academic year most of our employer information sessions, student coaching, community partnerships development / activity, alumni events, Business Advisory Council engagement and fundraising efforts were executed in a virtual environment with amazing ease and with fair attendance. One of our biggest challenges for in-person activity was that students were not in the classroom and classes were not being held in the classroom which made it difficult to follow the published schedule plans for classroom visits. However, with the challenge came opportunity and we were able to be productive and create engagements with prospective donors and corporate partnerships because of the virtual platform options. We raised nearly $3,000,000 inclusive of individual donations for the Annual Fund, JHJ Alumni and matched gifts from an estimated 80 donors with 227 gifts. The banking program raised 1.642,000 this fiscal year from 8 partners. Additionally, we were able to garner additional scholarship support from the C.T. Bauer Foundation, Anti-Defamation League scholarships, Service Wire, Goldman Sachs, TSU’s Golf tournament, Raytheon work study program, the Business Advisory Council and the TSU Gala.
