Business Advisory Council (BAC)
John Guess, III
Business Advisory Council Member Highlights
The Business Advisory Council continues to enjoy the engagement with the administrators of the JHJ School of Business to deliver financial support and lend our varied areas of expertise for student success. This year we welcomed President Lesia Crumpton Young and immediately engaged and embraced her priorities and goals to assist in achieving them. Our committees are hard at work to deliver corporate connections for scholarships and internships for the JHJ School students as well as lend any expertise we have for various and emerging programs in the School. Our support for one of the newest programs, the Future Bankers Leadership Program, resulted in establishing an endowment for the program and including BAC members teaching in classroom with real world perspectives in the banking industry. We are so proud that the vision born out of one of our members and executed by faculty and staff is thriving through the COVID 19 pandemic. It is our goal to continue to assist Dean Yen and his team to deliver on more programs that generate career paths and successes for students. The JHJ School Business Advisory Council added one new member to our roster this year under the leadership of Chairman, John Guess, III, Dean, David Yen, and Executive Director of Advancement, Muriel Funches. Adding depth to a very well-established Council, we welcomed Ahmad Goree to make an impact with recruitment and internships from the Dallas area. Goree – Ahmad has worked for local, state and federal agencies and organizations to implement and carry out policies that have made significant impacts on communities and lives. He currently serves as small business advocate within the federal government.
