APTUS CONNECTIONS ISSUE 16 - FUTURE-PROOFING APTUS

It was interesting, and I enjoyed that we completed tasks during the presentation - it prompted more people to pay attention in order to execute the tasks at hand. Very informative and quite eye- opening as to the damage the lack of exercise can have on the body and it was interesting to work out my BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate).

At our Academy workshop in February, we continued the wellbeing theme and invited personal trainer Ryan Maksymow to speak to members about health, fitness and diet. Ryan is a quantity surveyor at Aptus and is also a qualified personal trainer. During the session Ryan focused on what he refers to as the ‘ Pillars of Health ’, covering sleep, diet, hydration, and exercise. Ryan had a fantastic approach, incorporating practical tasks into the talk and ensuring everyone remained engaged throughout the session. Ryan shared a wealth of interesting statistics and the group left armed with some practical ways to look after their physical health.

It was eye-opening and inspired me to be more motivated.

The Mental Health Foundation says that physical activity is a great way to improve our mental wellbeing. We were delighted to receive excellent feedback on Ryan’s session, with comments including:

Brilliant, a really good speaker - you could tell a lot of effort went into it. Really got me thinking I need to start doing something about my physical health.
