Meet Sara,Your Smile’s New Best Friend Compassion in Every Conversation
There’s something special about working in dentistry that many people don’t realize. Through our efforts, we can help patients care for their oral health, often allowing them to live happier lives. They can smile proudly, flashing their pearly whites at everyone they meet. It’s always a wonderful experience watching someone leave our office after treatment, beaming excitedly over their smile. I hope to help many more patients feel that way as the years pass! My name is Sara Wray, and I am a treatment coordinator here at Caring Modern Dentistry. Although dentistry was not a big focus in my house growing up, I found myself drawn to the field as I started to explore potential career opportunities. I loved working with the public and finding ways to help people improve their health, which led me to dental assistant school. I enjoyed the role but stepped away from my position last year. I was assisting throughout my pregnancy, and once my baby was born, I knew I needed to take a break. I stayed at home with my newborn for five months before I decided to look for something new. I could have gone back to being a dental assistant, but I wanted to educate myself further and find additional ways to look at the dental field. I began looking for front-end
positions, which led me to this treatment coordinator role. It’s been a great fit since day one! Everything I do comes down to helping patients and ensuring they are in the best health possible.
they were members of my own family. You’ll receive the same experience my mom or dad would get! Going to the dentist and learning you need treatment is not always easy, even if you expect to hear that you need a filling or crown. I’ll do my best to help you with whatever you need, from figuring out finances to tackling any other obstacle. When we meet one-on-one to go over treatment options, I’ll explain everything clearly and provide answers to any questions you may have! Outside of work, I spend most of my free time enjoying each moment with my 8-month-old. We love spending time by the water, whether relaxing on the beach or out on the lake. My husband also likes to race go-karts, so that’s a common weekend activity for us. More than anything, I’m looking forward to the big moments coming soon in my child’s life. There’s even a chance we’ll have seen first steps by the time you read this! I can’t wait to see you when you come in for your next appointment! If you have any questions or need to schedule your next visit, please call us today! -Sara Wray
While I enjoy many aspects of my current role, the best part is connecting with our patients and building relationships with them. Whenever you come in for an appointment or need treatment, you can rest easy knowing I’ll explain everything with kindness and compassion. I view our patients as if

A Parent’s Guide to Helping Kids Navigate Social Media SCROLL SMART
Social media is a huge part of growing up today. From sharing pictures to keeping up with friends and family, it’s become a daily routine for many kids. But it also comes with serious risks. Here’s how to help your kids use social media wisely. HOW OLD SHOULD THEY BE? The American Academy of Pediatrics advises children to be at least 13 before opening a social media account. But that is not an absolute: Some kids may be ready at 13, others not until 16. Research has identified serious negative effects on children under 13, such as not enough sleep, poor body image, and cyberbullying. START THE CONVERSATION ON YOUR TERMS. Before your child opens their first account, ensure they know social media isn’t just likes and filters — it’s a public space where people share their lives and opinions. Help them understand the permanence of what they post. Even if something “disappears,” screenshots and digital footprints last forever. CHAT ABOUT PRIVACY. Privacy settings are your child’s first defense, but they are not perfect. Explain why it’s important to protect personal information. Ensure they never share things like their school
name, home address, or phone number online — even with people they think they know. And never become “friends” with anyone they don’t know in person. REMIND THEM THAT KINDNESS COUNTS. The internet can be a harsh place, but it doesn’t have to be. Teach your kids to treat others with kindness online, just like they would in person. If they wouldn’t say it face-to-face, they shouldn’t post it. It’s also important to talk about how what they post today could impact them in the future, from college applications to job opportunities. BE A GOOD ROLE MODEL. If you constantly scroll or overshare, your kids will think that’s normal. Show them what balanced, thoughtful social media use looks like. Put the phone down. Enjoy time offline. KEEP THE CONVERSATION GOING. Social media is always evolving, and so are its challenges. Let your child know they can come to you if something makes them uncomfortable or if they’re unsure about what to do. Being smart on social media is a life skill. With the right guidance, kids can enjoy everything it offers, without falling into the pitfalls. A frank conversation now can make a big difference later.
“Warm and inviting office and staff. I received an excellent cleaning and exam. Dr. Adams was very thorough and explained everything to me clearly. He took his time and allowed me to ask questions. I am very pleased with my experience.” –CHARLOTTE D. “My experience with Dr. Adams and all his staff has been very positive and pleasant. This is a dental practice there to provide excellent service. As for his work, I consider Dr. Adams an artist in his field. Should you want a dental office where each individual’s needs are important, you will love Dr. Adams and his staff.” –SARAH N. Cracked, Chipped, or Knocked Out? How to Handle Sports-Related Dental Injuries
Over the next few weeks, kids, teens, and adults will all take to the field, court, or ice to play their favorite sports now that the start of the fall sports seasons is almost here.
roots, rinse it, and return it to its socket, where you can gently bite down until it returns to normal. However, some people must come in for an appointment to get this fixed.
While this is an exciting time for athletes, it comes with an added risk for injury. Most people probably imagine broken bones and muscle strains as common sports injuries, but your teeth can experience damage, too. Most dentists will tell you that 30% of all dental injuries result from sports-related activities and can require serious intervention.
Other sports-related dental injuries can cause severe problems if left untreated. Some people experience tooth intrusion after something external pushes a tooth into the jawbone. This injury requires emergency intervention and may even call for a surgical procedure. While we’ll be here to help with dental emergencies, you can take preventive actions to reduce your risk of dental injuries while playing sports. Mouthguards are a must, especially if you’re playing a contact sport. You should also watch your diet, avoiding sticky and hard foods before practice or a game. Keeping up with your oral hygiene and
In many instances, a sports-related dental injury requires emergency treatment. Let’s say you fall while running down the basketball court and crack or chip a tooth on the hardwood. This can cause immediate pain and discomfort you should remedy immediately. Most of the time, we’ll be able to repair the crack with a crown, but in serious cases, we’ll need to extract the tooth or even do a root canal treatment. You may even hit your tooth so hard that it comes completely out of your mouth! If this happens to you, you should locate the tooth, pick it up without touching the
maintaining a healthy diet will be your best defense against sports injuries. Some injuries are unavoidable, however. We’ll be here to help if you ever experience one!

A Stylish Step Into Wearable Tech
Will These Tech-Specs Become Mainstream Soon? Smart Glasses in the Real World
Technology keeps getting more advanced, and new consumer
directly from your face. In many ways, they are the most complete version of smart glasses we’ve seen. But “complete” still doesn’t mean perfect. The built-in camera is fine for quick video clips, but photo quality is closer to an early smartphone than anything you’d post without a filter. Audio is okay but lacks depth, especially if you care about bass. And while the AI features are clever, they rely on a phone connection and sometimes misunderstand simple requests. Users, for example, say texting by voice is challenging. There’s also the social side of wearable tech. Glasses that record what you’re seeing in real time sound cool until someone else is wearing them at your dinner table. That uneasiness hasn’t gone away, and maybe never will.
Still, the promise is there. If you want a hands-free camera or a lightweight way to access basic AI tools on the go, these glasses show how that future might eventually look. But for now, smart glasses feel more like a conversation starter than a daily essential. They’re getting closer, but just not quite close enough to change how people live — or see.
products constantly bombard us. The latest buzz comes from smart glasses, which sound like near-future science fiction. A pair of stylish frames that plays music, takes pictures, answers questions, and quietly whispers directions in your ear? Sounds amazing. The problem is that reality hasn’t fully matched the concept. The newest example comes from Meta and Ray-Ban. Their second- generation smart glasses look great, especially if you like a classic Wayfarer style. They come in over 20 styles, with or without your prescription, and many features, including “open-ear” speakers, hands-free texting, and AI functions like real-time translation and object recognition.
