Dear Friends, We're delighted to welcome you to the National Comedy Center's 31st Lucille Ball Comedy Festival here in Lucy's hometown, Jamestown, NY.
From our record-breaking headliners, Gabriel "Fluffy" Iglesias and Taylor Tomlinson , to our Stand-Up Showcase and Comedy Late Night shows featuring top talent from across the country, to our free family comedy and variety show, Lucy legacy events, Tropicana lunches, block parties, live music, lake cruises and more, there is something for everyone during the five days of our festival. This week, we are pleased to cut the ribbon on The George and Jolene Brand Schlatter Theater at the National Comedy Center, which will showcase comedy’s greatest artists and their extraordi- nary work, including a new retrospective on George’s legendary sketch comedy show Laugh-In. Since our last festival, the National Comedy Center was featured on CBS Sunday Morning and in The New York Times , and named a "Top 25 Family Weekend Getaway in the U.S." by U.S. News & World Report , joining a prestigious list of national attractions including Walt Disney World and Disneyland. We officially opened Johnny Carson: The Immersive Experience with Hologram Host Jimmy Fallon , featuring Steve Martin, Mel Brooks, Martin Short, Bette Midler, Billy Crystal, Byron Allen, and many more, and we just opened a new display honoring the renowned New York City comedy club Carolines on Broadway and its founder/owner Caroline Hirsch. We recently announced that the National Comedy Center will be the home of comedy icon Joan Rivers' career archive, including her legendary 65,000 joke file, with a new exhibit coming in 2025. A collection from the estate of the beloved Betty White , as well as a collection from the groundbreaking sketch comedy series In Living Color , have recently become a part of the Center's permanent archive – among many rare artifacts and materials received and preserved by our Carl Reiner Department of Archives and Preservation over the past year. Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias THURSDAY, AUGUST 3
Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias was the top-selling comedian in the world in 2022, and is one of the most-watched comedians on YouTube with over 1.1 billion views. He sells out venues around the world and has over 25 million fans on social media. With his unique and animated style, Iglesias is immensely popular among fans of all ages. Iglesias is one of an elite handful of comics to headline and sell out Madison Square Garden, the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, and the Sydney Opera House, and made history last year as the first comedian to perform at Dodger Stadium, the largest MLB stadium in the U.S., selling out all 45,000 seats. She will perform at the Lucille Ball Comedy Festival as part of her current “The Have It All” tour. Tomlinson recently had multi-show sellouts in Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, Toronto, London, Dublin, and more. She was named the “Breakout Comedy Star of Year” in 2022 by Just for Laughs and Variety named her one of the “Top 10 Comics to Watch”. TIME magazine selected her for its TIME100 Next list and Forbes named her to its “30 Under 30” Hollywood and Entertainment list. SPECIAL GUESTS George and Jolene Brand Schlatter FRIDAY, AUGUST 4
George Schlatter changed the face of television when he created and produced the landmark sketch comedy series Laugh-In. The #1 show in America during the height of the countercultural movement, Laugh-In launched powerful comedic voices like Lily Tomlin and influenced generations of future sketch shows like Saturday Night Live and In Living Color.
Throughout Schlatter’s long and storied career, he also created and produced the TV series Real People, produced the first five years of the Grammy Awards, and hundreds of hours of variety series and specials featuring many of comedy and music’s biggest stars, as well as two Presidential inaugural opening ceremo- nies. Schlatter has received numerous honors and awards including 25 Emmy nominations, and three Emmy awards, plus Television Critics Association Awards, NAACP Image Awards, Golden Globes, the Directors Guild Award, and the Producers Guild “Man of The Year.”
As the creator and producer of The American Comedy Awards , Schlatter was a pioneer in honoring and celebrating comedic artists and performances that stand the test of time. The American Comedy Awards was the first award show to honor comedy as an art form, running for 15 years. Schlatter is also a founding Advisory Board member of the National Comedy Center.
George Schlatter’s new book, Still Laughing: A Life in Comedy , features never-before-told stories from the creation of Laugh-In , one of the most groundbreaking shows in television history. He will be signing books for festival attendees in the National Comedy Center lobby area on Friday, August 4 at 5:45 pm. Jolene Brand Schlatter’s acting career included her work with Ernie Kovacs, becoming a regular on the comedy innovator’s TV shows in 1961. Jolene was a series regular in Desilu Productions’ Guestward, Ho! and played Zorro’s only girlfriend in Disney’s 1957-59 cult classic, Zorro . She is credited as the creative force who came up with the catchphrase “Sock It to Me” for Laugh-In and joins husband George on the National Comedy Center’s Advisory Board.
The multi-media theater in the National Comedy Center will officially be named in honor of the Schlatters during the festival. The George and Jolene Brand Schlatter Theater will immerse museum visitors in exhibit experiences showcasing comedy’s significant artists and bodies of work.

SUN, AUGUST 6 CHAUTAUQUA BELLE BRUNCH CRUISE 10:00 AM - MCCREA POINT PARK Join us aboard the historic 1776 Chautauqua Belle, one of the last operating steamboats in North America, for a 2-hour cruise including a brunch inspired by the I Love Lucy episode "Lucy Does The Tango”! On this river cruise, you will see the Chadakoin River the way Lucy would have when she took the steamboats. Along with seeing Jamestown and Celoron from the river, guests will hear about the local history of the area that Lucy loved and grew up in. PRICE: $79.00
STAND-UP SHOWCASE 7:00 PM REG LENNA CENTER FOR THE ARTS See comics from across the nation whose credits include Saturday Night Live, The Tonight Show, Last Comic Standing, Conan, Late Show with Craig Ferguson and Late Show with David Letterman. Each performer will bring their own unique brand of humor to the stage and take the audience on a journey of laughs from observations to silly to irreverent, and best of all, funny! Featuring: Dean Edwards, Pat Hazell, Chris Martin, Marcus Monroe and Rachel Feinstein. PRICE: $22.50 COMEDY LATE NIGHT 9:30 PM & 11:30 PM - TROPICANA CLUB Comics from around the nation who have appeared on Saturday Night Live, Netflix, Last Comic Standing, Conan, Late Late Show with James Corden and more will be performing their newest, and sometimes blue-est material. This event takes place in a re-creation of Ricky Ricardo's famous Manhattan night club. Beer and wine served at additional cost.
