Marco Island Yacht Club
Despite the setbacks caused by Irma, which hit during the Club's September closure, the Staff rallied to host a pre-opening luncheon for the Marco Sail & Power Squadron on Wednesday Sept. 20, and MIYC "soft opening" dinners on the following Thursday and Friday evenings … where tall tales of survival, surges, and rather crazy antics were the order of the day. The Staff also handled a wedding on the following Saturday and a birthday party that evening. Be sure to ask Rich Granville to show you the video of him hitting 250-yard nine iron shots into the canal (downwind, of course) just prior to the storm wall hitting Marco. And guess who left before the storm to shelter with family in Orlando only to have a giant oak
crush his SUV. Everyone has a good story, but the best story is we made it through the worst ...and so did our terrific Club!
