PIERRE BONNARD | THE COLOUR OF MEMORY | TATE MODERN, LONDON 23 Jan – 6 May 2019

Pierre Bonnard was one of the greatest colourists of the early 20th century. The biggest exhibition of the artist’s work in over twenty years aims to allow new generations to discover his unconventional use of colour, focusing on the work that Bonnard created between 1912 and 1947. Visitors can expect to see a wide variety of artworks, ranging from landscapes to domestic scenes.

To mark the 500th anniversary of Leonardo da Vinci’s death, 144 of the artist’s drawings - on loan from the Royal Collection - will be showcased simultaneously at 12 exhibitions across the UK. Each of the displays will cover a range of subjects that interested the revered Renaissance master, including: painting, sculpture, architecture, music, anatomy, engineering, cartography, geology and botany. These exhibitions will conclude in May, when all drawings will be recalled to form one big exhibition at The Queen's Gallery at Buckingham Palace before moving to The Queen's Gallery, Palace of Holyroodhouse in November.
