GWO Basic Safety Training / V20 10032026

Technicians are tasked with electrical or mechanical work that requires hand tools. For the scenario, participants must overcome ergonomic challenges of working with hand tools, awkward postures and over shoulder height.

The participants shall:

Evaluate tasks to recognise and explain hazards and potential mitigation methods

Reduce exposure to vibrating handheld tools, such as job rotation and applying appropriate PPE

Apply procedures and aids when working with handheld tools

Decide on correct actions for completion of the task

Complete the task

ELEMENT 3.3 - TEAM LIFTING

Learning objectives:

29) The participants can apply the TILE principle to manage and mitigate risks of manual handling (Skills, intermediate level)

30) The participants can take initiative to warm up prior to daily physical work tasks (Ability, intermediate level)

31) The participants can take initiative to mitigate the risk of musculoskeletal injuries by applying TILE principle, safe work procedures and aids when working in awkward postures (Ability, intermediate level) 32) The participants can take initiative to mitigate the risk of musculoskeletal injuries by applying TILE principle, safe work procedures and aids when lifting and carrying loads (Ability, intermediate level)

Scenario description Technicians have been called upon to move a load that requires a minimum of two people, due to its size or shape.

The participants shall:
