The participants shall:

Practise the ability to attach fall arrest lanyards and work positioning lanyards correctly to the harness

ELEMENT 4.5 - WORK POSITIONING LANYARDS

Learning objective:

28) The participants can perform the use a work positioning lanyard to leave hands free for work (Skills, intermediate level)

The instructor shall:

Explain the importance of using work positioning lanyards to leave hands free for work

Create a practical exercise for the participants to practise how to use work positioning lanyards

Provide constructive feedback on the participants’ performance during practice

The participants shall:

Share their understanding on using work positioning lanyards and ask questions when in doubt

Practise how to use a work positioning lanyard safely and correctly

Practise how to work safely with hands free, while being secured by a work positioning lanyard

LESSON 5 - FALL ARREST: VERTICAL FALL ARREST SYSTEMS

The aim of this lesson is to enable the participants to perform a pre-use inspection of various types of vertical fall arrest systems and to use any vertical fall arrest system while working at height.

After having successfully completed this lesson, the participants can:

29) Show interest in performing a pre-use inspection of various types of vertical fall arrest systems and using any vertical fall arrest system while working at height (Ability, basic level)
