Practise how to identify, adequately tether and secure hand tools and other items carried, preventing dropped objects as part of practising the use of fall arrest lanyards and work positioning lanyards
Practise how to safely and correctly use fall arrest lanyards and work positioning lanyards to prevent a fall and ask questions when in doubt
ELEMENT 10.3 - FALL ARREST LANYARDS
Learning objective:
70) The participants can take responsibility for the safe and correct use of fall arrest lanyards (Ability, intermediate level)
The instructor shall:
Create practical exercises that enable the participants to practice how to use fall arrest lanyards to reduce the consequence of a fall
As part of this exercise the participant shall practice carrying a minimum of two hand tools, a mobile phone and a radio, and potentially additional equipment, accessories and minor components, which shall be transported to height in a safe way, e.g. tethered individually or tethered and secured in a personal closed top tool bag
Provide constructive feedback on the participants’ performance during the practice
The participants shall:
Practise how to identify, adequately tether and secure hand tools and other items carried, preventing dropped objects as part of practicing the use of fall arrest lanyards
Practise and demonstrate the ability to use fall arrest lanyards safely and correctly, including double hook climbing
