Practise and share understandings about how to conduct a safe and correct rescue in a wind turbine environment and administer first aid relating to this rescue
ELEMENT 16.3 - CORRECT BEHAVIOUR ON THE LADDER WITH PFPE
Learning objectives:
100) The participants can take responsibility for the safe and correct behaviour on ladders with PFPE (Ability, intermediate level)
101) The participants can act independently in safely and correctly using anchor points (Ability, intermediate level)
The instructor shall:
Explain and demonstrate the correct behaviour on ladder with PFPE
Ask the participants open ended questions about the instructor´s demonstration of the correct behaviour on ladder with PFPE
Facilitate practical exercises that enable the participants to practice the safe and correct use of the evacuation and rescue devices, including:
a.
pre-use inspection
b.
correct and efficient use of anchor points
c.
correct behaviour on ladder with PFPE
Facilitate practical exercises that enable the participants to practice the safe and correct use of the evacuation and rescue devices in two active setup scenarios and one passive setup scenario, including:
a. rescue of both conscious and unconscious casualties
b. use of different attachment methods, such as fall arrest and work positioning lanyards
c. application of the hip overhang technique to move a casualty away from the ladder
d.
use of rope clamp equipment for an out-of-reach rescue
Explain and demonstrate how to safely transfer from one side of the ladder to the other
Give constructive feedback to the participants throughout the exercises
