57) The participants can describe mental and physical preparation for a W2W transfer, including posture, PPE readiness, and mindset (Knowledge, basic level)
The instructor shall:
Guide a structured discussion on the importance of physical readiness, PPE checks, and mental preparedness prior to transfer
Demonstrate how to carry out a personal readiness check and discuss decision -making around “go / no-go” choices
Facilitate a reflective activity where participants consider how stress, fatigue, or distraction might influence their readiness
The participants shall:
Practise performing a personal readiness check, including inspection of PPE and securing of tools and equipment
Discuss strategies for maintaining mental focus and physical readiness before a transfer
Reflect on their decision -making process and articulate when and why they would choose not to proceed with a transfer
ELEMENT 8.6 - ROLE OF THE TRANSFEREE
Learning objectives:
58) The participants can describe the transferee’s role during W2W transfers and distinguish from that of the gangway operator (Knowledge, basic level)
The instructor shall:
Present the defined responsibilities of gangway operators versus transferees and explain how these roles interact during operations
Facilitate a communication -focused exercise where participants practise asking for clarification, reporting concerns, and following instructions
