Righting life raft (optional)
Safely enter the life raft
Conduct Immediate actions when in the life raft and consider further procedures in Life Raft
Conduct actions to enhance detection at sea in a life raft with the available equipment
Extracted from water or life raft by regionally applicable rescue method: e.g using helicopter rescue sling (optional, dependent on-site limitations )
ELEMENT 3.3 - TRAINING SCENARIO: EMERGENCY EVACUATION FROM WTG – TRANSITION PIECE (TP)
Learning objectives:
35) The participants can act independently and take responsibility to enter the water from a WTG transition piece in a controlled manner (Ability, intermediate level)
36) The participants can perform individual swimming techniques with LSA, PPE, and PFPE donned (Skills, intermediate level)
37) The participants can solve how to minimise the risk of hypothermia while in the water (Ability, basic level)
Scenario description While working on the TP, participants notice that smoke and fire have started, and an alarm has gone out to evacuate the TP. Participants are already wearing their transfer suit, helmet, life jacket, and PFPE.
The participants shall:
Evacuate from the WTG into the water using either:
a.
transfer ladder, or
b. constant rate descender or similar escape device (single or multiple descent)
Inflate the life jacket (inflation can be manual or oral)
