Chapter 15. Whatever It Takes

Wouldn’t it be great to have the confidence to call yourself a “whatever it takes” kind of person and then have others say that about you, too? How would you like to be at your office, at home with your kids, or at a high school reunion and hear someone say about you, “He (or she) is a ‘whatever it takes’ kind of person. He (or she) made a change, overcame obstacles, and is now living an amazing life.” This can start in an instant. Next time you walk by a mirror, look at yourself and say, “Starting today, I am a ‘whatever it takes’ kind of person. I will never stop growing and achieving.” Every time you look in a mirror, while washing your hands throughout the day, wink at yourself and smile, because you have a new secret—a new theory about yourself. Just thinking about it feels good, doesn’t it? Imagine when it starts taking place. It Can Last a Lifetime In order for things to change, you must be willing to change. Be willing to schedule a change in your life and look forward to it with open arms as something new, with endless opportunities. ! Don’t hope it’ll happen. # Don’t just wish it were going to happen. Schedule the change in your life. Stay focused on your goal and make it happen. At a seminar once, I asked, “How many people in the room would love to be a millionaire?” Just about everyone raised a hand. Then I asked, “How many of you have an idea or strategy to become a millionaire?” More than half the hands in the room went down. The next question got most of them: “How many of you are actually making the necessary changes in your life and working on your way to becoming a millionaire?” That’s when almost all the hands went down. # Don’t just dream about it.
