You Only Have To Be Right Once I want to challenge you to a new way of thinking. It may be hard in the beginning, because I’m going against what you’ve been trained to do. In school, you learned that in order to be a good stu- dent you had to score 100%. However, I’ve learned that you don’t have to be an “A” student to be successful. If you are right just 51% of the time playing stocks, you’ll likely be a very rich person. If you were a baseball player and got a hit 51% of the time, you would be the best the world has ever seen. Yet in school, if you got 51% of the questions correct, you would be graded as a failure. In your business, if you figure may have been wrong 90% of the time to find that winning com- bination. It just takes one “right” answer to crack the code to massive success. Realize that just about anything great has been met with resistance. When resistance appears doers continue and talkers stop. We all know that Thomas Edison invented the light bulb. But did you know that his first 2,000 + attempts at creating the light bulb were a failure? After he had finally figured it out and created the light bulb, someone asked him, “Mr. Edison, what about the 2,000 failures?” He responded: “I didn’t fail 2,000 times. I found 2,000 ways to NOT create the light bulb.” A different way of thinking and certainly more positive. The more time you spend doing rather than talking, the quicker you will get the wrong answers out of the way and start finding the solutions. When that happens, you will be able to spend more time “Doing” it right—and that is likely your motive. Being a doer goes hand-in-hand with the phrase: “If you are not part of the solution then you are part of the problem.” I grew up When resistance appears doers continue and talkers stop. out all the wrong ways to do some- thing and ultimately find the one “best” way to do it, you could develop incredible wealth, but you
