Chapter 4. It’s a Bright New Day

Think about it. If you wanted to learn how to speak Spanish, you wouldn’t go to one class and expect to speak fluent Spanish for the rest of your life. You need to adopt daily patterns so your old beliefs don’t pop back in and stop you dead in your tracks. If you want to change, you can. All it takes is practice. In just a few min- utes each day, you can follow my daily action plan and not let your old beliefs hold you back from limitless new goals and dreams. Finally, when something comes up and you have to react, or if you are thinking of making a change or taking a step in a new direction, you may feel fearful, scared, or unsure. If this happens, repeat the simple routine below. So when something happens ask yourself these four ques- tions right away: ! Is this (whatever the event or circumstance is) going to kill me? ! Am I going to go totally broke and not be able to feed myself or my family? ! Am I going to hurt anyone with the action I take? ! If I don’t try this, or do something different, will anything change? If you answer “no” to these questions, then go on to the next four quick questions: ! Can taking this step improve my life? ! Have I or anyone I know ever been in a similar circum- stance and got through it OK or even better off? ! Am I scared because I feel I can’t accomplish this, or are old limiting beliefs holding me back? ! Is this step or action what a successful or Totally Fulfilled person would do?
