Chapter 7. Time is on Your Side

Take a few minutes, be honest with yourself, and write down or think about time in your life that you allocate to things that do not reward you, your future, or the people you care about? Find it and let’s use it for something so much more fulfilling. Core Attribute #7 Totally Fulfilled people are productive and focused. They are able to accurately assess what’s important to them and to achieving their goals. Sometimes I know I use this as an excuse when one part of my life is slipping. I’ve said, “I just have so much going on, I can’t handle that part,” when I was temporarily overwhelmed or over- loaded. But then I use the same methods I am teaching you to overcome these feelings and stop allowing myself to use lack of time as an excuse. I run several companies, travel a lot for business, and have a number of major responsibilities that eat up almost every minute of every day. God has given us all an equal 24 hours in a day. It’s what we choose to do with that time that makes the difference. Setting Your Priorities My schedule does not allow me to watch much TV, but I try to watch one show on Sunday night that really touches my heart. Extreme Makeover—Home Edition helps families in need get a new house, and it has evolved to doing so much more for people. Sometimes when I am thinking my life is so hectic, so busy, maybe even feeling that my pressures are so much greater than the average person’s, I see a story like I did the other night, and it brings me right back to reality. A brave fireman saved a medic’s life during a shoot out. The story of his bravery alone touched my heart, but that was only the
