Chapter 8. You Don’t Need Money to Make Money
What if, as of today, you said, “I now realize there are mil- lions of self-made millionaires who started with nothing. They dug inside themselves to find the answers and they succeeded. There is nothing anyone else can do that I can’t do.” Just saying that out loud is empowering. Through necessity and practice, I have mastered a few unique techniques to make money without using any of my own. It’s amazing what you can create out of necessity or when you want something bad enough. Do you want it?
The Power of Desire Let me give you a quick story of something I did as a kid that bought me my first really nice fishing pole and a beautiful Shimano reel at a little sporting goods store down the road from my grandmother’s house. We certainly didn’t have the money to buy a fancy fishing pole. But I didn’t feel sorry for myself. Instead, I tried to find a way to get that rod and reel. For almost an entire summer of Saturdays, I had yard sales. I went to my grandmother and Aunt Hazel and Uncle Bud and a few of my grandmother’s friends and asked them for anything they didn’t want anymore or I cleaned out their garages for free.
