Engage the participants in sharing experiences of how to perform electrical work tasks safely using electrical safe working practices including:

a. Electrical PPE

b. Exposed energised electrical conductors and circuit parts

c. Approach boundaries and responsibilities for controlling persons approaching or entering

d. Tools

e. Alerting techniques

f.

Job briefing/ pre-task briefing

g. Deranged equipment

h. Guards, covers and enclosures, including the relevance of IP Ratings

i. Non-contact techniques (Infrared inspections)

j.

Arc flash

k. Stored energy in batteries and capacitors

Challenge participants to demonstrate in practical sessions their existing knowledge, skills and abilities in electrical safe working practices and PPE use, based on their prerequisite training and work experience

The participants shall:

Engage in the learning activity and share understandings about:

a. how to perform electrical work tasks safely using electrical safe working practices

b. the importance of using the electrical safe working practices in their work

c. the participants’ responsibility in ensuring that work is always performed in accordance with the electrical working practices
