Safety training

Control of Hazardous Energies Standard / V5 10032026

batteries and capacitors. The scenarios should challenge the participants to take responsibility that work with electricity or in its vicinity is performed safely.

After successfully completing this lesson, the participants can:

43) Take responsibility for establishing an electrically safe work condition (Ability, intermediate level)

44) Take responsibility for handling batteries and capacitors correctly and safely (Ability, intermediate level)

ELEMENT 5.1 - HAZARDOUS ELECTRICAL SAFETY SCENARIOS

Learning objectives:

45) The participants can act independently to select and use electrical safe working practices to reduce the associated risks of the electrical hazards related to working around electricity in a WTG environment (Ability, intermediate level)

46) The participants can act independently to treat all electrical equipment as live until an electrically safe work condition has been established (Ability, intermediate level)

47) The participants can act independently to control the hazards posed by similar looking or adjacent energised equipment within reach, by identifying and confirming equipment using markings and documentation, as well as securing boundaries (Ability, intermediate level)

48) The participants can act independently to follow and complete safety documentation such as permits (Ability, intermediate level)

The instructor shall:

Explain safety procedures in the training area before practical exercises begin and confirm that all participants understand

Facilitate scenario-based practice, where each participant must practise and demonstrate the following in relevant scenarios with varying degree of complexity and fading instructor guidance and support:

a. preparing for and planning the work

b. following and completing safety documentation such as permits

c. using electrical safe working practices to reduce the associated risks to the hazards related to working around electricity in a WTG environment
