We have time to stroll the seafront to discover the town’s lovely beaches, admire the beautiful gardens and Georgian architecture, explore the friendly shops, and relax over lunch at your choice of the many stylish restaurants. Our day also includes a visit to the nearby Sidmouth Donkey Sanctuary , where we can see the beautiful donkeys, it cares for and learn about its mission of rehoming those in need. Why not adopt a donkey on behalf of your group? Day 5 Departure After breakfast, we make our way home.

Day 1 Arrival We arrive at our hotel in time for dinner. Day 2 Powderham Castle & Dawlish

After breakfast, we make our way to Powderham Castle where we enjoy a fascinating guided tour. Located beside the River Exe close to the cathedral city of Exeter, this 600-year-old fortified manor is home to the Earl and Countess of Devon and boasts a colourful past rich with stories and secrets. The remainder of the afternoon is free for us to explore and enjoy the traditional seaside resorts of Dawlish and Dawlish Warren, both close to our hotel. Day 3 River Exe Cruise & Exeter This morning we travel to Exmouth for a circular cruise on the River Exe. Sailing on calm and sheltered waters, our skipper will provide us with live commentary on the history of the area. Following our boat trip, we make our way to Exeter. A city rich in history, there is plenty to occupy us here, including a magnificent cathedral, imposing Roman wall, beautiful quayside with shopping opportunities and the award-winning Royal Albert Memorial Museum. NB: Depending on tide timings, it may be necessary to take the cruise in the afternoon and visit Exeter in the morning.
