One of England’s most iconic historical landmarks, the impressive chateau-style Waddesdon Manor is included on this wonderful 4-day tour as we go back in time and admire the grandeur and opulence of the art-filled rooms and stunning gardens. We also have a leisurely day in Oxford to explore its many attractions.

PACKAGED ITINERARY

Day 1 Arrival We arrive at our hotel in time for dinner. Day 2 Waddesdon Manor Today we visit Waddesdon Manor , a French Renaissance-style chateau set in a sweeping 5,000- acre estate in Buckinghamshire. Built in the late 19th century by Baron Ferdinand de Rothschild, this imperious mansion houses an exceptional collection of French decorative arts and British paintings, alongside impressive formal gardens. Magnificent horticultural themed gardens include a parterre, Aviary surrounded by intricate raised ribbon bedding, fragrant Rose Garden and impressive Water Gardens. We experience the opulent paintings and interiors of the house and explore its landscaped gardens before returning to our hotel. HOW ABOUT? Day 3 Oxford Today we visit the historic university city of Oxford with its honey-gold buildings, dreaming spires and riverside setting. We enjoy time exploring the city at leisure. Attractions include Christ Church College (entrance to colleges is subject to availability), where many distinguished people have studied. More recently the colleges have become famous for their connection to the Harry Potter films. Day 4 Departure After breakfast, we make our way home.
