Upon arrival in Chester, we have time at leisure in the historic city of Chester which has the most complete city walls and largest Roman Amphitheatre in Britain, plus a 1,000-year-old cathedral and 700-year-old unique shopping rows. In the afternoon, we head to the beautiful River Dee for a relaxing boat trip , taking in the scenery and views of the ancient city from a different perspective.

Staying For 4 Nights? Today we visit Chester Zoo , home to 35,000 animals and 128 acres of zoological gardens to explore at leisure. From frogs and penguins to chameleons and elephants – and all sorts in between – we discover amphibians, birds, reptiles and mammals. Staying For 3 Nights? This morning, for a quite unique experience, we have a guided walking tour of Chester from a Roman soldier . Our guide, dressed in full Roman uniform, will bring Roman Chester to life as we voyage back in time to understand 2000 years of history through detailed and fascinating delivery, showcasing the cities highlights. In the afternoon we free time to explore Chester at our own pace, be it a wander around the shops or finding a quiet café for some refreshment.
