Day 1 Arrival We arrive at our overnight hotel in time for dinner. Day 2 Isle of Skye & Isle of Benbecula Today, we travel through the spectacular Scottish Highlands towards the Kyle of Lochalsh and the Isle of Skye passing the beautiful Eilean Donan Castle en route. From the Kyle of Lochalsh, we cross the magnificent Skye road bridge onto the Isle of Skye itself and enjoy the scenic drive towards the island’s capital, Portree. We arrive at the port of Uig from where we board the ferry to Lochmaddy with dinner on board , and continue to the Isle of Benbecula, our destination for the next two nights. Day 3 Guided tour of South Uist & the Isle of Eriskay This morning, we are joined by a local guide for a full day tour of stunning South Uist, an island of the Outer Hebrides with crystal clear water and white powder beaches. We pass the ruins of the 18th century Ormacleit Castle towards the Isle of Eriskay, which is linked to South Uist by a stone causeway. This beautiful little island is where Bonnie Prince Charlie first set foot on Scottish soil and is also known for its famous, semi-wild ponies. On our return we visit the Hebridean Jewellery Shop & Workshop. Day 4 Island Hopping: Benbecula, Harris & Lewis Today we depart with a packed lunch to travel across North Uist…alongside 13 miles of stunning sandy beaches, freshwater lochs and rolling moorland hills before reaching Berneray, reputedly one of King Charles III’s favourite destinations. From here, we board the ferry to Leverburgh on the Isle of Harris, which offers an incredibly diverse landscape. On arrival, we visit St Clement’s Church, Rodel, which was built in around 1500. From there we head north travelling on the west coast route, stopping for photos at some of the most beautiful beaches in the UK. Then we take a scenic drive toward the Scalpay Bridge and admire the lovely waterfront villages before making our way to our final destination of the day, Stornoway, where we settle into our next hotel for two nights. Day 5 Guided Tour of Isle of Lewis Suggested Driver’s Day Off Today we enjoy a tour of Lewis with a local guide who joins us for the day of the island’s fantastic scenery. Lewis is the largest and most populated of the Western Isles, although it remains refreshingly unspoilt
and uncrowded. Home to some of the most important seabird colonies in the UK, the Isle of Lewis is a haven to all forms of wildlife. During our circular tour, we visit the Calanais Standing Stones an extraordinarily cross-shaped setting of stones erected 5000 years ago, predating Stonehenge. We pause at Carloway Broch , an ancient Iron Age fortification, and also visit Gearrannan Blackhouse Village and step back in time as we experience the way of life in a typical crofting township of the 19th century. HOW ABOUT? Day 5 would be an ideal day for a driver’s day off, should you require one. Ask your Account Manager for details about booking coach hire. Day 6 Departure Today we board the morning or afternoon ferry to Ullapool from where we journey home. Please speak to the sales team for overnight options.
