FEBRUARY-MARCH Orchids at Kew As well as an annual specially themed Orchid Festival in the Princess of Wales Conservatory (February/March), the new Carbon Garden showcases the essential role plants and fungi play in tackling climate change. Or take a look at the Grass Garden and Davies Alpine Garden too - there’s so much to see at Kew. Chiswick House There’s a wide range of events and activities throughout the year at Chiswick House. The gardens are home to lots of wildlife and an impressive 1,600 trees, nurtured alongside the 18th century Palladian villa. Both have a special place in garden design and architectural history. FEBRUARY-JULY Bayeux Tapestry, British Museum In an historic loan agreement between the France & UK governments, the famous Bayeux Tapestry will be displayed at the Sainsbury Exhibitions Gallery in the British Museum until July 2027. The 70 metre Bayeux Tapestry depicts the 1066 Norman invasion and Battle of Hastings. MARCH Royal Albert Hall Mountbatten Festival of Music. The outstanding versatility of some of the world’s finest military musicians are given the “West End” treatment with spectacular lighting effects. New music commissioned by Kew and taking inspiration from the glory of spring will be played around the Gardens’ blossom hotspots by music students from the college. Come and reconnect with nature as you take in the pastel colours, sweet scents and music in this beautiful setting. APRIL Tulip Festival at Hampton Court The Hampton Court Palace Tulip Festival features floral demonstrations as well as arrangements of beautiful flowers for visitors to enjoy. The Tulip Festival is included in the price of palace admission, meaning that groups will be able to explore all attractions that the palace has to offer. MAY RHS Chelsea Flower Show World-famous with stunning garden designs and floral displays, Chelsea is surely the crown in the RHS’s flower shows. Horticultural highlights, daring designs and bountiful shopping make this an absolute must for all flower fans! Royal Albert Hall Film Music Gala. From classic cinematic themes to some of the biggest blockbuster hits of recent times, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra celebrates some of the greatest film music ever written.
