This project is the brainchild of Executive & Artistic Director Emmy Alcorn ; in collaboration with Managing Director Sherry McGee , and supported by MRT’s Board of Directors and Infrastructure Committee. In 2018 MRT took a significant step by hiring Solterre Design to lead the architectural work. Tate Engineering Inc was brought on in 2023 to manage the project on the theatre’s behalf. Following an invitation to bid on Phase One, Iron Maple Constructors Inc was chosen and immediately broke ground on the site of the former NSLC on Highway 16. Tate Engineering assumed construction management for the following phases.
