Learning objectives:
33) The participants can explain the principles of primary and secondary survey (Knowledge, intermediate level)
34) The participants can assess a casualty using the primary and secondary survey Knowledge, advanced level)
The instructor shall:
Explain the “C” in the A-B-C-D-E principle in detail
Demonstrate the procedure of primary and secondary survey using the “C” in the A-B-C-D-E principle
Ask the participants involving questions on their understanding of the procedures of primary and secondary surveys
The participants shall:
Engage in answering questions and share experiences on the “C” in the A-B-C-D-E principle and procedures of primary and secondary surveys
ELEMENT 5.2 - PRIMARY SURVEY
Learning objective:
35) The participants can perform a safe approach and initial assessment of the casualty (Skills, intermediate level)
The instructor shall:
Demonstrate and explain conditions and procedure of primary survey comprising:
a. assessment of risks and threats for first aider and victim
b.
safety awareness
