The participants shall:

Engage in answering the questions and share understandings throughout the activities in this element

Engage in the exercises and practise:

a.

first aid when a casualty is bleeding externally

b.

bandaging

c. use of first aid equipment, including pulse oximeter

d.

first aid when a casualty is bleeding internally,

e.

ongoing patient assessment/survey

f.

use of advanced first aid equipment

g.

first aid treatment of shock

h.

early use of medical teleconsultation services

Receive and reflect on the instructor´s feedback

ELEMENT 5.7 - “D”: DISABILITY

Learning objectives:

47) The participants can distinguish between the different levels of responsiveness (Skills, intermediate level)

48) The participants can perform checks of the pupils and explain the reasons why this is done (Skills, intermediate level)

49) The participants can perform adequate first aid measures (Skills, intermediate level)

Consciousness

The instructor shall:

Create exercises on:

a. how to distinguish between the different levels of responsiveness e.g. ‘AVPU’ (Alert, Voice, Pain, Unresponsive)
