Learning objectives:
50) The participants can describe the causes and stages of hypothermia and hyperthermia and the appropriate measures (Knowledge, basic level)
51) The participants can describe the risks of hypothermia and how to take appropriate measures (Knowledge, basic level)
52) The participants can describe the difference between heat exhaustion and heat stroke (Knowledge, basic level)
53) The participants can describe the use of active warming blankets (Knowledge, basic level)
54) The participants can describe cooling measures for heat exhaustion and heat stroke (Knowledge, basic level)
Hypothermia and Hyperthermia
The instructor shall:
Lead a discussion on the causes, recognition, and stages of hypothermia and hyperthermia and the appropriate treatment
Discuss the use of appropriate first air equipment (e.g. blankets, active warming blankets)
