Enhanced First Aid Standard / V6 10032026

The instructor shall:

Explain and demonstrate while asking the participants involving questions throughout:

a. measures for immobilisation and correct axial, pain relieving positioning of the casualty, including the use pelvic binders (as appropriate and according to national guidelines)

b. ‘RICE’ (Rest, Ice, Compression and Elevation) method

Create exercises on the use of splint material, and other immobilisation/stabilisation materials

Give constructive feedback to the participants’ performance in the exercises

The participants shall:

Learning objective:

67) The participants can distinguish between different kinds of burns and perform correct treatment (Skills, intermediate level)

The instructor shall:

Present severity of burns (depth)

Present types of burns, including electrical and chemical burns

Facilitate an exercise on the treatment of burns including cooling measures

Give constructive feedback to the participants treatment of burns
