54) The participants can describe the causes, stages and risks of hypothermia and hyperthermia and how to take appropriate measures (Knowledge, basic level)
55) The participants can describe the difference between heat exhaustion and heat stroke (Knowledge, basic level)
56) The participants can explain the use of active warming blankets (Knowledge, intermediate level)
57) The participants can describe cooling measures for heat exhaustion and heat stroke (Knowledge, basic level)
The instructor shall:
Present:
a. the causes, recognition and stages of hypothermia and hyperthermia and the appropriate treatment
b. use of appropriate first aid equipment (e.g., blankets, active warming blankets)
c. the difference between heat exhaustion and heat stroke
d. cooling measures for heat exhaustion and heat stroke
The participants shall:
Engage in discussions and explain:
a. the risks of hypothermia and how to take appropriate measures
b. the difference and risks between heat exhaustion and heat stroke
