Brent Charolais - Annual Charolais Bull Sale [3/31/26]

Hello everyone. Please allow me to say “thank you” for taking time to review our offering for 2026 and consider this your personal invitation to attend our bull sale on March 31 st South of Kensington, KS. While 2026 will be the first time we’ve offered bulls in a live event format, this will be the 9 th annual Brent Charolais bull sale, and 33 rd year raising registered Charolais bulls. Over the years, one of the biggest rewards in the business has been the opportunity to meet a lot of good people and make new friends. If your available, I sincerely hope you will come out and enjoy the day with myself and all of the people on the crew that help keep things moving. As I consider the cattle that will be offered, and the goals that have been involved in their breeding, the word that comes to mind is balance. While it’s the goal to advance the genetics as aggressively as possible, I believe it’s important not to forget that these bulls have to go out on real ranches and earn their keep. The Brent Charolais cow herd runs on native pasture and crop residue most of the year. The cows calve outside with minimal supervision. Most of the sires are owned breeding bulls, so we get to see first hand the feet, fertility, breeding nature, and overall performance of the genetics selling. If there is a problem with the genetics, I want to know about it so our Welcome customers don’t. For the past few years the cattle have

been developed in partnership with Cedar Valley Farms and the Slavik Family. Todd has been using Brent Charolais bulls for several years now, and in addition to developing breeding heifers, this partnership has allowed us to finish the cull calves and collect even more real world profitability information on our cattle. Whether it be breeding bulls, replacement heifers, market cattle, or crossbred feeders sired by Brent bulls, they will all be on location and available to view, good, bad or ugly. If you have any questions, or would like to come see the bulls in advance of the sale, please call anytime.

Matthew Brent

Welcome to the Inaugural Live Auction, hosted by Brent Charolais. As Matthew has grown his herd and continues to improve his quality, we decided to make the move to a live auction. Our plan is to continue to refine this event and grow it into the future. I have had the pleasure of knowing Matthew for several years, since my time with the AICA. He is a detail oriented cattleman that hold his cows to the highest standards. His entire program is centered around breeding cattle that work for the commercial producer. Matthew does the majority of the ranch work by himself or with limited assistance. That means the cattle must be hassle free and easily managed. His breeding philosophy is structured around growth and carcass without sacrificing maternal strength. His bloodlines represent some of the best genetics that the breed has to offer. We want to invite you to the Cedar Valley Feedlot on March 31 st , for our inaugural live auction. If Matthew or I can be of assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out. See you on sale day, Colt Keffer CK Sales & Marketing, LLC.
