13. THE BTT INSTALLATION MECHANICAL MODULE
13.1 Becoming certified to deliver BTT Installation Mechanical Module GWO requires that the BTTI-M and BTTI-E are certified as a combined module. This means that a single audit is required to get both modules on scope. The timetable to be followed in the audit can be found in annex 4. Audit and certification for the BTT Installation Mechanical module must include all necessary requirements for this module as well as the BTT Installation Electrical Module in accordance with the GWO Requirements for Training. Instructors must be qualified to deliver both modules. Combined delivery of Installation Mechanical and Installation Electrical The BTT Installation Mechanical module can be delivered either as a stand-alone module or as combined training along with the BTT Installation Electrical module (See section 14.1). In a combined delivery of the GWO BTT Installation Mechanical and BTT Installation Electrical modules the Training Provider may omit overlapping lessons. See Annex 4 for elaborate information about combined delivery of BTT Installation Mechanical and BTT Installation Electrical.
Participants attending the combined delivery must fulfil prerequisites for both modules.

13.2 Aims and Objectives of the BTT Installation Mechanical Module The aim of this BTT Installation Mechanical module is to give the participants the knowledge, skills and abilities to carry out basic installation tasks (supervised by an experienced technician), using safe working procedures and the correct PPE.
After having successfully completed the BTT Installation Mechanical module, the participants can:
1) Recognise the main installation activities (Knowledge, basic level)
2) Discuss the overall risks and hazards associated with the installation environment (Knowledge, intermediate level level)
3) Discuss the checklist system throughout the complete installation process (Knowledge, intermediate level level)
4) Describe the characteristics of the installation environments (Knowledge, basic level)
5) Recognise the principles and standards for handling and storing goods and components onsite or within a storage area, before and after installation (Knowledge, basic level)
6) Discuss the basic principles of the lifting equipment used during installation (Knowledge, intermediate level level)
7) Describe the basic preparation of main components before installation (Knowledge, basic level)
