The participants shall:
Engage in the activity and share understandings about different situations where a tool is used without protective earth and GFCI/RCD including the consequences of improper grounding on tools or equipment
Engage in the discussion about the function and importance of GFCI/RCD and protective earth in tools and equipment
Engage in the activity and share understandings about how to identify double isolated tools
Engage in the discussion and share understandings about examples of what to do when encountering circuits that are not protected by GFCI/RCD’s
Engage in answering the questions and share understandings about the relation between current and contact time
Engage in answering the questions and share understandings about the consequences of getting a shock from a circuit protected by a GFCI and on a circuit without GFCI
Engage in the test and share their attitudes and understandings about PE AND GFCI/RCD
ELEMENT 5.4 - STORED ENERGY
Learning objective:
77) The participants can describe the risks and hazards of stored energy in electrical systems (Knowledge, basic level)
The instructor shall:
Explain the risks related to:
a.
the UPS system - e.g. risk of back feed
b.
capacitors - e.g. risk of stored energy and arc flash
c.
batteries - e.g. risk of stored energy and arc flash
Ask the participants relevant questions that challenge the participants to describe the risks and hazards, and how these risks and hazards can be mitigated
