ACTIVE LISTENING AND COACHING

The aim of this lesson is to enable participants to improve learning and meaningful feedback through coaching, using active listening as a key communication technique during coaching sessions to support constructive dialogue between the instructor and participants.

After having successfully completed this lesson, the participants can:

66) Explain the principles of structured coaching in both a learning and feedback situation (Knowledge, Intermediate level)

67) Apply active listening techniques during coaching sessions (Skills, Intermediate level)

ASSESSMENT

The aim of this lesson is to enable participants to understand the role, application, and strategy of both formative and summative assessments in the learning process. It will also provide participants with insight into various assessment strategies that support learner development, monitor progress, and evaluate achievement against defined learning objectives in the context of safety training. Included in this, the aim is to enable participants to use the GWO Participant Performance Assessment Form (summative) as part of the training delivery assessment strategy, against training aims and learning objectives and other assessment criteria.

After having successfully completed this lesson, the participants can:
