Table 9.5.1 – IQTT Module Participant Ratio
The minimum number of participants on the IQTT should be no less than six participants. This minimum number will ensure dynamic learning activities in different constellations that support the adult learning principles, interactions and reflection activities aiming at reaching the expected learning outcome. 9.6 Didactical Considerations for the IQTT Module 9.6.1 The strategy is a flexible agile structure to follow the needs of the participants and at the same time ensure the sufficient alignment with the IQT content during the course. The IQT module syllabus constitutes the skeleton of the IQTT, and topics should be shuffled and delivered depending on the participants’ needs and the natural interdependencies of the topics and related concepts. 9.6.2 The agile approach (where lessons, learning activities and discussions alternately may address e.g. general didactical topics, the GWO instructor’s role (or the IQT Trainer’s role) means the IQTT teacher should always ensure, that the IQTT participants are aware of which aim and target group is being addressed at any moment (e.g. “this activity is to build on your pedagogical competences in general” or “this is an example of how you may deliver an IQT lesson”). 9.6.3 Each IQTT participant will plan and conduct a number of lessons and learning activities related to the IQT syllabus. This is partly to address IQT topics of special interest within the IQTT course; partly to engage the IQTT participants in participant-driven learning activities and IQT relevant reflections.
9.6.4 IQTT participants are expected to be prepared for the module through the comprehension of the following pre-requisite literature:
1.
Instructor Qualification Training Standard
2.
GWO Taxonomy Framework
3.
Theory on Intrinsic Motivation and Barriers to Learning
9.7 Detailed Description of the IQTT Module The scaffolding activities of the IQTT are the participants planning and teaching lessons, parts of lessons, single learning activities and presentations. To support this, the IQTT teachers teach relevant topics when required or otherwise feasible. Although the strategy is flexible, a number of general lessons from the IQT syllabus should be addressed including: GWO Taxonomy, Feedback, Assessment, Instructor self-assessment and development, and adult learning principles.
