Recent breeding has produced a poinsettia with a much longer post-harvest life and more desirable cut flower characteristics such as longer, sturdier stems and larger flower heads. Easily grown as cut flowers, poinsettias are perfect for Christmas and other holidays such as Valentine’s Day. Cut poinsettias are a festive addition to a holiday table or celebration, and the unique colors and flower form are ideal for high-end bouquets. Winter Rose is an elegant choice as a cut flower in traditional red. Novelty colors like Autumn Leaves, Golden Glo, Green Envy, and Norwin Orange are ideally suited for the autumnal colors of a Thanksgiving table. Varieties like Early Polly’s Pink in lovely bright pink make an exciting option for Valentine’s Day.
