Brooke observes that clients want to copy her choices. “Whatever protein I’m eating, clients want to eat it too. Whatever supplements I’m taking, clients want to take them as well.” An additional benefit is helping clients save money. “When I talk nutrition with people, I share Melaleuca with them instead of asking them to spend top dollar at Whole Foods or Natural Grocers.” The Melaleuca Product Store has so much to offer. “Everybody who comes to me has thought about trying supplements, so I start there,” explains Todd. “But then I immediately start introducing my favorite products outside of supplements. I say, ‘Listen, check out the sunscreen; it is the best mineral sunscreen that you’ll ever find.’” Todd also finds that clients’ interest in health is a natural bridge to Melaleuca’s other products. He educates clients on the importance of using safer cleaners because of the relationship between lung health and overall fitness. “What if I focus on nutrition and fitness for somebody, but then they go home and immediately start scrubbing their floors or their counters with bleach?” Greater Flexibility Whether fitness professionals need a flexible schedule or simply some extra cash, Melaleuca provides a way to build an additional income stream while pursuing fitness-industry goals. When Brooke and Jason were running their gym full time, the hours were grueling. “We had 4:00 a.m. wake-up calls and were often training clients till 9:00 p.m.,” Brooke says. “I was a slave to my clients’ schedules. Now I get to structure my own day.” And even with all that hard work, the couple was vulnerable to economic forces. “It’s an unpredictable industry. There were times we went from training 55 clients a day to 13,” Brooke says. “Unfortunately, most people see fitness as a luxury. Luckily, I was building a small Melaleuca business at the time. It helped us pay our bills. It was the best plan B. It saved us!” A Melaleuca business lets you share wellness without a large up-front investment. Brooke shares that opening a gym can be prohibitively expensive. “Our investment included a hefty $200,000 to open our gym, with $15,000 in overhead each month,” she says. “I love that with a Melaleuca business I can help other people have a career in the health industry without an investment.” “A lot of trainers don’t have a platform that is scalable,” Buddy says. “Are they helping one person at a time, or do they actually have a platform that can help the masses? Ideally, we want to share health and wellness on a larger scale, and with Melaleuca we can do that!”
IDEAS FOR GREAT
APPROACHES Not sure how to approach fitness professionals on your contact list? Try some of these ideas below! Ernest’s Go-To Approach: “Every fitness trainer has clients. Most of their clients are focused on weight loss. If all you do is refer your client to weight loss products, your reward is limited. Melaleuca gives you an opportunity to offer your clients better nutritional products as well as better products for their home and for their family.” Buddy’s Go-To Approach: “I’m sure you get a lot of people asking questions. ‘How do you look this way? What’s your program? What type of supplements do you take?’ What do you share with them? Do you just send them to GNC? What if I offered you an opportunity to not only help clients reach their goals but also make some repeat income on the side? You could help other people and help yourself too.” Brooke’s Go-To Approach: “I just love that we’re on the same page with our passion for fitness and health and wellness. I’d love to sit down and share what I do and how I use my fitness background to make a good income. I’m not trying to sell you anything. And I’m selective about who I pick to work with. You’ll figure out pretty quickly if it’s the right fit for you or not.” Todd’s Go-To Approach: “I know you’ve got your way of doing things here. I’m definitely not trying to interrupt that. I see how passionate you are with health and fitness. My wife and I stumbled across something that literally changed everything that we were doing at the gym and at home. Let me share and see if it makes sense for you.”
