professional stadium. Walking down the tunnels from the clubhouse under the stadium and out into the sunlight from the dugout well, it was like a scene from ESPN.” BCI’s Red Rams took the championship. The Red Rams overpowered all comers, blanking the Timberwolves 12-0 in the final. The Red Rams were carried through by a powerful perfor- mance from pitcher Brodie Burns. “Their pitcher was throwing with some ve- locity that we just hadn’t seen before this year,” explained Kennedy, who coaches the Tim- berwolves with Brad Westgate and Sean Addis. “And they were smart ball players. Any ball that was hit they ate it up and dealt with it pretty quickly. Their hitting wasn’t unbelievable, but it was timely. If they had someone on base, more often than not they cashed them in.” TheTimberwolves had better luck in the semis against the La Salle Knights, beating them 5-4 in extra innings. BCI got to the final with a 15-1 mauling of St. Joseph’s.The Red Rams now move on to the OFSAA Eastern Regionals. The tournament also served as a fundraiser for the Upper Canada District School Board Cham- pions for Kids Foundation. Organizers accepted donations in lieu of admission, and raised $200 for the Foundation.
